Christian Serratos, star of Twilight ("Angela Weber"), has just been awarded, according to Twilight20somethings, an award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Twilight by the Annual Young Artist Awards. (Dakota Fanning, star of New Moon, also won an award that night - see here.)
Serratos "took control" of the role of Angela, though an allbeit small one, with much poise and grace (as did her co-stars Anna Kendrick - "Jessica Stanley," Michael Welch - "Mike Newton," Eric Yorkie - "Justin Chon," and Gregory Tyree Boyce - "Tyler," all playing relatively small, but very important, roles as friends of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) in the much-anticipated film), bringing to life the essence of the character who was described in the book series to know when to keep her mouth shut and how to be a nice person.
Serratos, who was Suzie Crabgrass in Ned's Classified School Survival Guide, had mostly appeared in television spots such as on 7th Heaven and Zoey 101, amongst others before Twilight.
Throwing in such zingers as "maybe they'll adopt me," in the film when Bella first sees the Cullens, Angela Weber was a character few Twilight readers could forget - one who could be trusted to take Bella's side even in her darkest hour in New Moon. Though she is listed as "(rumored)" on IMDB for the reprisal of her role, New Moon readers have no doubt that, so long as the book-to-film translation is faithful, Christian's character will be making a comeback. I look forward to it, in fact, and congratulate Christian Serratos on her accomplishment.
