Sneak Preview of Stephenie Meyer's Interview with Glamour's New Cover Star, Twilight's Kristen Stewart! Plus new outtakes and BTS video

 hallo everyone,
In Glamour's November issue (on sale October 11), Twilight author Stephenie Meyer talks to cover star Kristen Stewart about Breaking Dawn, Bella, boys and more. Get a sneak preview of the interview here!

It feels very good to see Kristen Stewart again. I’ve missed her. We’re meeting at the little mews house where I’m living for the summer, about an hour outside London. Kristen seems relaxed and happy; she looks fantastic—not unusual for her—and better rested than the last time I saw her, at the end of the interminable two-movie shoot that dominated our lives for the past year. You may know me as the author of the Twilight series, but I’m also a producer of the movies, so Kristen and I have gotten to know each other very well while filming during the past three years. Now the series is close to being over, with Breaking Dawn in theaters this month and Breaking Dawn Part 2 coming out next fall.

Today she’s in her usual jeans and a T-shirt, Chuck Taylors and a ponytail. Without any makeup, her skin is noticeably luminous. Her hair is dark, glossy and very long. I comment on the length, mentally counting the months since I’ve seen her; it’s been less than four. Kristen laughs: The hair is not all hers. It’s in place for her next movie, Snow White and the Huntsman.
We talk and talk, and as we speak, Kristen curls her legs under her, never entirely at rest, leaning forward when she’s enthusiastic. She’s animated and passionate about any project she believes in, yet she’s wary of how she might be perceived. I hope that in this interview something is captured of the Kristen I know, the real girl rather than the movie star.

Will ‘Twilight’ spark interest in literature? NSU hopes so. Source Via @twilightish.

Matthew Albright Staff Writer

Nicholls State University has revamped its English course list this year, adding classes about the wilderness, sports and the popular “Twilight” book series. “We’re trying to get what students are interested in, what students find engaging, what resonates with them,” said department head Ellen Barker. This year’s offerings for the English 102 course, which almost every student takes, include course titles like “Edible English,” “The Horror Film,” and “The ’60s.” Course titles for the 210 class include “Literature in the Bible,” “New Orleans Literature,” “Sports Literature,” “Literature and the Wilderness,” and “ ‘Twilight’ Series Allusions.” John Doucet is dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, which includes English. He said the department is trying to ramp up interest in English classes, which are an important part of his college’s curriculum.

“A lot of students are apprehensive about certain upper-level classes. They say ‘Oh, I’m not good at English, so I don’t want to take these classes,’ ” he said. “These new topics are so inviting that I think the students are going be much more engaged.”

Richmond Eustis, who got his PhD in comparative literature from LSU in 2010, is teaching “Literature in the Wilderness” in his first semester at Nicholls. “I had my first day of class [Wednesday], and the students all seem bright and super-engaged,” Eustis said. “This class was really fun to teach.” Eustis said the class will read some wildly varying material, from the 4,000-old epic “Gilgamesh” to works by Henry David Thoreau, to Jon Krakauer’s “Into the Wild.”

Forks Prepping for Annual Stephenie Meyer Day

Thanks to our Elite Affiliate Twilight Lexicon for this tip!!

Each year Forks puts on a Stephenie Meyer themed celebration to coincide with the weekend closest to Bella’s September 13th birthday. This year they have their own website http://stepheniemeyerday.com/ Where they are rapidly filling in the details of the weekend.

The town of Forks has also made some rather necessary and practical changes to handle the influx of visitors. According to the Forks, Washington blog “The members of West End Business & Professional Association and Forks Chamber of Commerce have gone in together on two Sanicans placed downtown for the summer tourists. Merchants in the area of the stoplight had been complaining about Twilight visitors using their restrooms which are usually back in store rooms and not meant for public use.

So a regular sanican was delivered first and when the folks at West Waste and Recycling delivered the second one it had a custom paint job, I call it the “Twilight Twoilet.”

If you are heading to Forks. Be sure and check out the following websites

Stephenie Meyer's The Host Acquired by Open Road

Although Stephenie Meyer may be primarily known as the author of The Twilight Saga, she's also explored the sci-fi genre (though admittedly not straying too far from the romance angle that's worked so well for her) with The Host. The film version has just been acquired by Open Road, which is owned by theatre chains AMC and Regal.

Andrew Niccol will be directing and the film is set to star Hannah's Saoirse Ronan as Melanie Stryder.

Deadline, which has the exclusive report on the Open Road acquisition, describes the plot as follows: "[Melanie Stryder is] one of the last humans putting up a fight against an alien species called Souls, parasites that invade human bodies, fuse to each person's consciousness and systematically erase their personalities. Melanie is captured by the aliens and implanted by a Soul called Wanderer. While Wanderer's goal is to get Melanie to give up the remaining pockets of humans, the alien finds Melanie to be unique in her unwillingness to surrender her consciousness. Wanderer is so overwhelmed by Melanie's memories and feelings that she is driven to reconnect with Melanie's old life, which includes falling for Melanie’s boyfriend. The result is a complex, romantic and emotional human/alien love triangle."

Saoirse Ronan Cast as the Lead in Stephenie Meyer's 'The Host'

EXCLUSIVE: Saoirse Ronan has been set to star in The Host, the screen adaptation of the bestselling novel by Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer. Scripted by Andrew Niccol, the film figures to be one of the hot titles when Inferno launches sales at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival next week. Niccol, who was originally set to direct, might resurface as the filmmaker.

Ronan, the Oscar-nominated star of Atonement, The Lovely Bones and most recently Hanna, will play Melanie Stryder, one of the last humans putting up a fight against an alien species called Souls. These parasites invade human bodies, fuse to each person's consciousness and systematically erase their personalities. Melanie is captured by the aliens and implanted by a Soul called Wanderer, something of a legend because of all of the "hosts" she has attached to on numerous planets. Wanderer's goal is to get Melanie to give up the remaining pockets of humans, but instead the alien finds Melanie to be unique in her unwillingness to surrender her consciousness. Wanderer is so overwhelmed by Melanie's memories and feelings, the alien is driven to reconnect with Melanie's old life.

What We Learned From Stephenie Meyer's 'The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide'

Source Via @twilightish.
The official 543-page encyclopedia to Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series hit bookstores Tuesday, offering in-depth profiles of even the most peripheral characters, outtakes from the novels, genealogical charts, and original illustrations (including the sketch of Bella’s wedding dress seen exclusively on EW.com last week). Meyer clearly wanted The Illustrated Guide to supplement her series, to put on paper the world she carried for so long in her head. Some of the book’s notable tidbits:

—It includes a 2008 Q&A between Meyer and her friend Shannon Hale (Princess Academy) in which Meyer says Jacob was originally an afterthought. “Jacob was born — as a device really — to tell Bella what she needed to know [about Edward being a vampire].”

—Edward’s first human victim was actually Esme’s abusive ex-husband from her pre-vampire days. (Edward tracked him down and sought vengeance for his adopted mother.)

—When Quileute Leah Clearwater first turned into a werewolf, the shock of seeing her transformation caused her father (and Charlie Swan’s best friend) Harry Clearwater to have a heart attack.

—Bella’s parents met at First Beach, on the La Push reservation, during Charlie’s rookie year on the police force. They fell in love and were married within a few weeks.

—Meyer offers an annotated playlist of songs that influenced certain moments in the series. The description of Edward and Bella’s first dance as husband and wife was inspired by Muse’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.”

—The book outtakes include a section cut from New Moon in which Bella got high on Percocet after slugging Jacob and hurting her hand. “How’s your arm?” “I can’t feel it. Is it still there?”

Twilight fans — who’s bought the book? Who’s planning to (or not planning to)?

Are Jacob And Renesmee Getting Their Own Movie Series After Twilight?

Share Your Thoughts (0)

Did Stephenie Meyer reveal she’s starting a Twilight spinoff starring Taylor Lautner? Read more here. Source Via @hollywoodlife Via @twilightish.

“That is a question I’m reserving the right not to answer, because there is a chance I’ll go back to their story,” says Stephenie. What?! She might come back to the story of Jacob and Renesmee?! We wouldn’t blame her, the whole imprinting plotline is fascinating, although many fans were disappointed that Jacob “imprinted” on Bella and Edward’s baby. As the devoted fans know though, this only means he is protective of her and doesn’t mean he has any inappropriate feelings towards Renesmee. He will wait until she gets older to act on anything, as he should.

Stephenie Meyer Talks Bella's Wedding Dress, 'Midnight Sun' And How Robert Pattinson Is A Lot Like Jacob

Share Your Thoughts (0)

We'll admit it, we're jealous. Ten lucky—nay, very lucky—"Twilight" fans got to take part in a top-secret, two-day meet and greet in Vancouver with Stephenie Meyer, in which the author discussed everything from how Robert Pattinson is more like Jacob in real life to publishing "Midnight Sun" to Bella's "unbelievable" wedding dress. Lucky for us, USA Today caught every minute of it.

Stephenie, who is getting ready to release "The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide" (it hits stores on April 12), said that while she loves writing "the vampire histories," it seems like there's two whose tale is done for good: Edward Cullen and Bella Swan!

"The story's already been told, and I doubt I'll ever write another series based on the same characters," Stephenie said of the beloved "Twilight" couple. But, that doesn't mean Stephenie isn't willing to explore more Edward for her devoted fans.

The author divulged that "Midnight Sun," the book told from Edward's view point, may come to fruition after all, despite being partially leaked online a few years ago. "I'm hoping to do it someday because I know that's what people want. No matter what book I put out from here to eternity they'll want 'Midnight Sun,'" she explained.

Thankfully, that's not the only "Twilight" story she's willing to revisit in the future. Stephenie (who has a fantasy novel about a 17-year-old girl who lives in a dark world of magic where "people are using bows and arrows and swords", a 1,000 page book about mermaids and the follow-up to 2008's "The Host" all on the horizon as future endeavors) said "there is a chance" that someday she might write about the relationship between Jacob and Renesmee. Speaking of Renesmee, Stephenie divulged details on the infamous birth scene. "I've only seen a rough cut and there are pieces missing, but I don't feel like it's graphic. You're not seeing it, but you know what's happened. It's emotional. It doesn't feel horror-ish. There's blood, probably the most blood we've ever seen in the series. But everything's in flux; we'll see in the final cut."

In fact, Stephenie had plenty of juicy tidbits to share about what's happening in "Breaking Dawn." The writer gave plenty of props to Kristen Stewart, whose Bella goes through some major changes in the last two films (to say the least!). "She's created a new character. I was really impressed. I've only really seen her as (the human) Bella, so to have her step up and change it in the right way—she didn't have to talk to me. She knew. She knows the character so well now. She has really good instincts, and she looks amazing," Stephenie said.

And as it turns out, KStew is looking rather amazing in her Bella wedding dress! "It's such an interesting mix," Stephenie said of the gown, "It has a vintage feel, but at the same time, there's an edge to it. It's really beautiful. And then on Kristen—oh, she looks amazing in clothes—and in that dress she's so lithe and unbelievable."

Stephenie, who worked as a co-producer on the last two movies, also revealed that the first installment of "Breaking Dawn" will end "when Bella opens her eyes as a vampire" (further elucidating producer Wyck Godfrey's earlier statement). She added, "That's the way it's been shot. They can still do it any other way, but I think that's the general idea. You kind of have to get there in the first film. That way you have all the time in the world to explore being a vampire and those exhilarating first moments."

Nevertheless, Stephenie (who also reminisced about how "Rob is more like Jacob than Edward. He's goofy, he's funny, he doesn't take much seriously. But he can turn Edward on like that") has to do the same thing we're all dreading: saying goodbye to the "Twilight" saga on the big screen. "I don't know when it's going to get me," she said of accepting the idea that it's almost over, adding, "But I know it will, and at that point I'm going to be a sobbing mess on the floor." Join the club.

What's next for 'Twilight' author Stephenie Meyer?

Twilight author Stephenie Meyer is busy in Vancouver right now as Breaking Dawn filming is underway through mid-April.

Fans, says Meyer, can expect a surprising performance when star Kristen Stewart transforms from human to vampire.

"She's created a new character. I was really impressed," says Meyer. "I've only really seen her as (the human) Bella so to have her step up and change it in the right way — she didn't have to talk to me. She knew. She knows the character so well now. She has really good instincts and, she looks amazing."

In an exclusive interview with USA TODAY's Carol Memmott coming Thursday, Meyer also shares details on the wedding gown Kristen Stewart wears in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, she dishes about Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, and Meyer talks about the creatures - some watery, some dark - she hopes to write about next. Check back tomorrow for the whole story.

TwilightLexicon: Best wishes to Elizabeth Eulberg as she leaves the Twilight fandom

Hey Everyone,
Twilight Lexicon made known that Elizabeth Eulberg, Stephenie's publicist leaves the Twilight Fandom.
Read more below...

Via @TwilightLexicon

Elizabeth Eulberg has spent the last six years as Stephenie Meyer’s publicist.  Now think about that, folks.  Stephenie Meyer is one huge force to be reckoned with when it comes to publicity!  It was such a big task that when Stephenie first came into the spot light, Elizabeth had other authors that she worked for but for the last few years Stephenie has been the ONLY author she covered.  Her official title was “Head of Global Publicity for Stephenie Meyer.”  That’s a pretty impressive title!
If that wasn’t enough, Elizabeth has managed to write and publish two books of her own: The Lonely Hearts Club and Prom and Prejudice.  She has a third book coming out later this year.  Her success as an author has been growing substantially.  Because of that success she announced today that she is leaving Little Brown and will no longer be Stephenie’s publicist.  This will allow Elizabeth the opportunity to write full time.
