In early 2009, Robert Pattinson's biopic Little Ashes was released to the independent film circuit, making major waves in the fan community along the way.
In the film, Pattinson portrays Salvador Dali, a Spanish artist famed for his Surrealist and politically jarring paintings.
Just today, it was announced that Little Ashes has been nominated for a GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) Award.
The film is directed by Paul Morrison, who stated that the team "made it in the spirit of . . . just need[ing] to make this film, it’s crying out to be done, without expectations of what will happen to it," and it is produced by Carlo Dusi, who referred to the film-making process as "magical."
Little Ashes is now available on DVD in the U.S. and the U.K. For information on the Gay & Lesbian Alliance's 21st annual Media Awards, see here
