When it comes to ogling the hottie vamps of Twilight's Cullen family, nothing gets our blood pumping quite like Carlisle — the family patriarch, the most sophisticated of the bunch, and (in case you hadn't noticed), an ice-cold blond adonis with a sultry expression and (ooh!) a medical degree.

So last night's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" was quite the treat, when Peter Facinelli, a.k.a. Carlisle himself, showed up to say hello. Looking classic rough-and-tumble in a sweet leather motorcycle jacket, jeans, and a white t-shirt, the actor waxed nostalgic about his childhood in Queens, talked about his family, and treated us to a bootlegged video of an amazing on-screen stunt in the making (check out that clip after the jump!).

After telling a handful of adorable stories about setting off fireworks as a kid in Queens, offering up a little bit of embarrassing family lore ("My dad tried to make me play the accordion!"), and showing off a photo of an itty-bitty adorable piglet that he'd gotten for his daughter's thirteenth birthday, the talk turned to the most important subject at hand: Eclipse! And a never-before-seen behind-the-scenes video of Carlisle Cullen in action!

"OK," said Jimmy. "Now tell me, what are we about to see?"

Peter explained, "I taped my phone onto the truck in front of me. So this is a bootleg copy of me doing my stunt. You don't want to do this at home for sure!" The show then cut to a video of Peter on-set, running and leaping on what appeared to be a fast-moving treadmill, attached to an even faster-moving rolling cart, being pulled down a dirt road in the middle of the forest.

Which, as Jimmy pointed out, looked kind of extremely dangerous.

Peter laughed and responded, "I had this vision of my face hitting the mat and ripping my whole body to shreds."

But the payoff was worth it, right? Right???

The camera then cut to a clip from the movie, showing Carlisle running at full vampire speed through the wilderness while the forest streaked past behind him... for a total of two seconds.

"You risked your life for two seconds of the movie," said Jimmy. "Is there any possibility that they're trying to kill you?" "Well," said Peter, "they need me for the next movie."

We hope the "Twilight" crew is paying attention.

Just to make sure we're clear:

Killing Peter Facinelli is not allowed.
