“Four to the Floor” Characters Tied Together by their Love of Dance

Four to the Floor is a film based on the life of the writer/director Rotimi Rainwater. It is about his character, XL, and his three friends Tommy, Los (played by Alex Meraz), & Ruc, who are leaving for one last road trip to New York where XL has just been accepted to NYU film school. However, XL is conflicted because his alcoholic mother’s cancer has just returned. So he must face staying in Orlando to take care of her which he has always done, or finally leaving and start living his life for himself.

The film is a coming of age story based on the journey of these four friends, but is also a dance flick, as the four friends are tied together by their love of dance.
