Contact lenses `make Twilight characters statuesque`

The characters in the Twilight films truly come to life once their contact lenses have been put in, according to one star of the movies. Peter Facinelli, who portrays Carlisle Cullen in the films, said that the actors who play the roles of Stephanie Meyer's characters take on a new dimension once the contact lenses go in. Speaking on the red carpet at the Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday night, he told MTV that Bella Swan's transformation into a vampire in Breaking Dawn is assisted by the lenses. "She's doing really well. She looks fantastic. For some reason, once they put those contact lenses in, you look very statuesque," Facinelli said. Last year, Robert Pattinson revealed that inserting the contact lenses to play the part of Edward Cullen, Carlisle's son in the movies, helps him to get into the right mood to play the character - that of a brooding bloodsucker.
