Interview By Roger Moore
Here is an extract :
If Michael Sheen were our tour guide, where would you take us in Paris?
I did a play there, once, many years ago. Working in a city is a great way to get to know it. The best way to discover Paris is to just walk, get lost a little bit.
But I love Notre Dame. It’s an extraordinarily beautiful and spiritual place. Looking out those huge round stained-glass windows as I stand in the middle of the cathedral just leaves me stunned. And even though it’s full of tourists, you can always find a quiet place to take it in.
Any place you’re comfortable enough going to where you might be tempted to become pedantic?
Ha-ha! I don’t know about that. I always love to tag along on the edge of a tour group when I’m in an art museum, because I want to hear more about the history of the paintings. I sidle up, but I’m always scared I’m going to get told off for not being a part of the group!
What has “Twilight” done for your career?
I have no idea. Perhaps I’ve got more box-office appeal among teenage girls? Did they cast me in “TRON” because of “Twilight”? The parts are so different. I am an actor, first and foremost, so I’m always looking for and taking that next piece or work that’s most interesting to me. Big film, small film [He’s in the indie film “Beautiful Boy” later this summer], it’s what is most interesting that matters.
