The release date for The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide has been a bit of a mystery. At first, it was scheduled for release on December 30, 2008, but the following statement was issued right before the release of Twilight (the film)
"The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide, which was scheduled to release on December 30th, is being moved to 2009. A new on-sale date will be announced as soon as possible. As the only official guide about the Twilight Saga, we want to make this edition as special as possible. We are including more of the exclusive material that you all have been asking for over the past several months, which will require additional time.
BUT to hold you over until the announcement of the new release date, we are giving you an exclusive first look at the cover image for The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide."
Understandably, speculation about a release date for the book began almost instantly. In June, Barnes and Noble re-kindled the flames of anticipation by posting a release date of September, 2009 (see here). Unfortunately, that proved to be inaccurate, and the book is still not in stores.
Now, with that in mind, Barnes and Noble (among others) has re-issued a new release date for the book - December 31, 2010. One blogger caught onto the change, and, as it turns out, B&N isn't the only source with that month and year listed on their product page for the book. Others, most of whom actually have December 30th instead of 31st listed, include Borders, Tower Books, GoodReads, andBuy.com. On the other hand, Amazon.com has no release date listed, and Books-A-Million refers to December, 2009 has the release date for The Twilight Saga: Official Guide.Needless to say, nothing is official until it's official. Whether or not the release date pointed to by these sources is accurate is unknown. Hopefully, when the book's release date is issued, you'll hear about it from the publishing company by way of an official press release.
Moral of the story? Take the information at face value and remain patient (for now at least).
