Heyerdahl chatted over the phone from Louisiana, where he is shooting “Twilight: Breaking Dawn.” (“There’s a bunch of vampires and they’re all very pretty, except for one of them,” he said when I asked for scoop. “He kind of looks like John Druitt with hair.”)
Speaking of Druitt, Heyerdahl does double duty playing the (literal) lady killer as well as the lovably hairy beast-of-all-trades Big Foot in “Sanctuary,” which airs at 9 p.m. Fridays on Syfy. Playing dual roles on primetime TV is pretty rare, but the Canadian actor does it with what appears to be little effort.
One thing can be said about the characters: You can’t judge them by their looks. Druitt looks like any other 6-foot-5 bald guy wearing leather (well, maybe not), but he’s more monster than human. The beastly Biggie has a heart of gold and a moral center to match.
