LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Twi-hards have taken to the Twitterverse… and they want their vampire guy candy! “The Twilight Saga” fans are Twi-Tweeting with a mission — they want Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen in the franchise, to take off his shirt when he arm wrestles Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) in “Breaking Dawn, Part 1.”
Fanpires are Tweeting their pleas directly to Kellan’s Twitter account, while tagging the movement #takeitoffkellan.
The very vocal fan base for Stephenie Meyer’s vampire series has swayed the direction of the films before – most notably when they campaigned for Taylor Lautner to keep the role of Jacob Black, and forced Summit to explain their decision to recast Bryce Dallas Howard in the role of evil vampire, Victoria (replacing Rachelle LeFevre).
But the fans will have to wait and see whether their pleas will be enough to convince director Bill Condon to instruct Kellan to lose his shirt in the eagerly anticipated arm wrestling scene.
Access recently caught up with Kellan on the set of “Breaking Dawn, Part 1” in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where the star explained that he was looking forward to battling Kristen.
“I’m really excited to shoot the arm wrestling scene between Bella and Emmett because I know it’s one of those scenes that the fans are really looking forward to,” Kellan explained. “Even when I do conventions or hang out with the fans, they’re excited and they’re like, ‘Is that going to be in the screenplay, in the movie?’ And it is… and I can’t wait to shoot it.”
“Breaking Dawn” will be released as two separate films with the first installment hitting theaters on November 18, 2011, and the second part on November 16, 2012.
