Kristen Stewart Drops Out Of Transgender Indie 'K-11'

Any shot the public had at seeing Kristen Stewart playing a transsexual prisoner with autism is no more. We can't say we're surprised.

The "Twilight" star had long been involved with "K-11," the indie film about a rather unusual family that is set to be the directorial debut of Stewart's mother, Jules. But Variety now reports that as "K-11" finally moves forward after years in development, Bella Swan herself will not be involved in the production.

Stewart's departure marks the second "Twilight" actress to bow out of "K-11": Last year, Nikki Reed dropped out of the film, which both actresses had been involved with since at least 2008. MTV News broke the story on the project that November, when Reed kicked us word of the flick. "It's about a little-known section of the men's county jail," she said at the time. "I'm playing a man, and Kristen's playing a boy."

About one of Hollywood’s music magnates ending up in the K-11 unit of LA’s male prison. K-11 is a unit sanctioned for gay men and transgendered who wouldn’t be able to survive in normal lock-up. He is inducted into this strange family unit that’s full of love, but tainted with rape, drug trafficking, and abuse. Birdy, a 19-year-old sweet, red-headed girl (naturally a boy) who befriends the new member and takes care of him. She is flighty like her name, but very damaged. She is raped by a convicted child molester named Detroit who likes Birdy because she is little and young, and to retaliate against the abuse she murders him! In the end the K11 unit works together to overthrow the guard who sexually and verbally abuses them. (Kristen Stewart mentioned for the role of Birdy/Butterfly.

Kristen Stewart Not Slated to Start ‘K-11′ Anytime Soon

Kristen Stewart’s post-Breaking Dawn production schedule has been the subject of intense scrutiny, and this week there appears to be a new wrinkle. Source Via @gossipcop.

The actress is still attached to K-11, a drama directed and co-written by her mother, Jules Mann-Stewart.

Now, IMDb and other outlets claim that K-11 will begin production on June 6.

As Gossip Cop reported, Stewart has also been offered the title role in Snow White and the Huntsman, leading many observers to wonder whether there’d be a potential conflict between the two productions.

The movie ‘K-11’ has been delayed since 2008 due to various factors, such as casting, funding and the schedules of Kristen Stewart and it was shelved since then. The movie is supposed to start it’s filming from June 6, which could probably come in the way of ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’, if the schedules are not adjusted.

The movie ‘K-11’ is all about one of the Music legends of Hollywood ending up in male prison of K-11 unit in Los Angeles. K-11 is a unit provided for the gay people and the transgenders who could not survive in the normal prison.

Reportedly, Kristen Stewart is playing the character of Birdy, a 19-year-old girl, with red hair just like a normal boy. She gets molested by a child molester Detroit who likes her, as she is small and young. Later in the plot, she kills him as retaliation. The complete ‘K-11’ unit works together, to throw the guard, who abuses them verbally and physically.

The complete film is violent as people fighting with each other to dominate and the rest fight for their survival. Jules Stewart, the mother of Kristen Stewart is the script writer and the director of ‘K-11’.
