This Mardi Gras, Lutz is serving as grand marshal of SBP's "Get on the Float" campaign, which helps drive donations directly into home reconstruction efforts. You can get involved by donating or volunteering in the area. As an added bonus, everyone who donates will be entered to win autographed "Twilight" memorabilia from Lutz and his castmates, as well as the chance to have@kellanlutz shout them out on Twitter for their gift. He plans to tweet about a different contributor daily.
"We want to raise enough money to get at least one family one home," said Lutz of the "Get on the Float" campaign. And in my opinion, this is a brilliant way to do so.

Elle & Dakota Fanning To Play The Shaggs In A Biopic?
Vulture reports that Elle and Dakota Fanning are coming onboard a gestating biopic of rock ‘n roll oddities The Shaggs. The story goes like this: three sisters—Dot, Betty, and Helen—formed a band in 1968, even though they had no musical talent, because their grandmother had a session with a palm reader who envisioned their future fame and fortune and told their father who put them together as a group. Naturally, they were terrible but not without a particularly sloppy charm. Regardless, they were a popular local band in Fermont, New Hampshire and they issued one album “The Philosophy Of The World” which was roundly savaged by critics (though Frank Zappa famously said they were better than The Beatles). The band broke up following the death of their father in 1975, but fast-forward a couple of decades later, a new appreciation of sorts of their work emerged with re-issues and a tribute album. It’s a totally bonkers story so no wonder a feature film has long been in the works. Source Via @twilightish.

Over the course of 2010, we all watched as Taylor Lautner landed one impressive role after another and was selected as part of the new "A-list."After filming in his first leading role since becoming "Jacob" in the Twilight series (he's "Nathan" in Abduction -- due in theaters September 23rd of this year), he started nabbing roles like the lead in Stretch Armstrong, Cancun, and, most recently, Incarceron.
You can read more HEREAccording to Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood, 2011 is going to be a big one for Taylor Lautner.I can scoop that Fox 2000 and New Regency each coughed up an 8-digit paycheck to work with 8-pack-abs Tay-Tay for his two only available time slots this year. Meanwhile, three top producers including Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes are circling Taylor to star in their movies for 2012 and beyond.

Kristen Stewart New Role on Snow White?

Hollywood Reporter: There's big movement on Snow White and the Huntsman, Universal's take on the suddenly hot fairy tale, which is the subject of several competing movie projects. The studio, clearly angling to beat Relativity's version, is in talks with Charlize Theron to play the evil queen and is having conversations with Michael Fassbender's reps to take on the titular huntsman. Source Via @pattinsonstew.
But who will nab the starring role of Snow White?
The studio initially thought of going with name actresses in that age bracket, making entreaties toward Kristen Stewart and Saoirse Ronan, but is nowleaning toward going with a relative unknown and is holding screen tests in the next few days to find its leading lady. The stakes are high because, similar to Disney's recent Alice in Wonderland adaptation, there will be stars in key roles, but the main pillar is going to be whoever ends up as the orphaned girl on the run.

'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' star Xavier Samuel to play the groom in new comedy

As you know, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Xavier Samuel ("Riley Biers") is working on the fim Bait 3D right now. And his film Anonymous, with New Moon star Jamie Campbell Bower has a September 30th, 2011 release date in the U.S. Thanks to our Elite Affi Twi Examiner for the tip! Source Via @twiexaminer.
According to FilmInk, Xavier Samuel has gotten himself another role for fans to look forward to: the groom in an Australian film called A Few Best Men.
"A Few Best Men . . . follows a groom and his three best men who travel to the Australian outback for a wedding . . . [and] the comedy will feature rising local star Xavier Samuel as the British groom."
Xavier Samuel's been in his fair share of thrillers (e.g., The Loved Ones, Road Kill, Anonymous, Bait, and of course Eclipse - this counts since his scenes were on the action side of the story), so it'll be a nice change of pace to see him take on a comedy role, don't you think?

ICYMI: 'Twilight' Producers Ink TV Deal for 'The Count Of Monte Cristo' Reboot

Temple Hill, producer of the hugely successful Twilight movie series, is making a big move in television, signing a two-year overall deal with ABC Studios. This is the first TV pact for Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen's Temple Hill, which will mark its fifth anniversary in February. Under the deal, Temple Hill will be developing and producing series projects for ABC Studios. First off is a contemporary re-imagening of Alexandre Dumas, pere's The Count of Monte Cristo. Source Via @twilightish.
Swingtown creator Mike Kelley is writing the project, which explores the classic tale from a female perspective and chronicles the story of a mysterious young woman who comes to the Hamptons to exact revenge on the people who destroyed her family. Kelley, Godfrey and Bowen are executive producing. In addition to the untitled Mike Kelley project, Godfrey and Bowen have another series adaptation of a classic literary work set up at ABC and ABC Studios, Romeo & Juliet. The project, set in Renaissance Verona, is being written/executive produced by World Trade Center scribe Andrea Berloff and executive produced by Godfrey, Bowen, Sean Robins and Todd Garner, with Catherine Hardwicke eying to direct. It was followed by indie comedy Management starring Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn, romantic drama Dear John and the blockbuster Twilight franchise it is producing with Summit Entertainment: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and the upcoming Breaking Dawn. Rob to play Fletcher Christian in new film?

British icon Fletcher Christian is set to return to the big screen in "Isabella," a feature film adaptation of the novel by Fiona Mountain. The novel was short listed for the Parker Romantic Novel of the Year. Source Via @gossip_dance.
The project, which is not yet set up at a studio, is set in the English Lake District and details Mr. Christian’s passionate love affair with his cousin, Isabella Curwen – an affair which many believe set the stage for the Bounty mutiny. The story also explores the rumors of Fletcher’s return to England after the mutiny.
As a sweeping historical romance, producer Darren Reagan believes "Isabella" is a unique and highly commercial project. “'Isabella' is a timeless tragedy like ‘Romeo and Juliet’ combined with the mystery and mythology of the ‘Bounty’ story,” says Reagan.
According to screenwriter Michaela Lewis, “Fletcher Christian remains one of cinema’s iconic antiheros, but previous films barely scratched the surface of Fletcher’s ambitious and flawed family - we’ve never seen the passionate love story that lead to the mutiny.”
Reagan adds, “It’s ironic that no British actor has ever portrayed the legendary mutineer. We think the time has come for someone like Robert Pattinson, Daniel Radcliffe or Jamie Bell to follow in the footsteps of Errol Flynn, Clark Gable and Marlon Brando and portray Fletcher Christian.”

Dakota Fanning is in talks to star in Summit's supernatural "If I Stay," with Denise Di Novi producing.
Originally set to be directed by Catherine Hardwicke, pic will now be helmed by Brazilian filmmaker Heitor Dhalia.

Fanning has been a favorite at Summit of late, appearing as Jane in the Twilight trilogy and in Summit's "Push" with Chris Evans.

ABC Developing 'Romeo & Juliet' Series With Catherine Hardwicke Possibly Directing
Source Via @twilightish.

EXCLUSIVE: After ordering contemporary versions of Romeo & Juliet set in New York and Chicago the last two pilot seasons, ABC is going for the real thing this year, picking up for development a retelling of William Shakespeare's classic tale set in Renaissance Verona. Catherine Hardwicke, who directed the feature adaptation of another story about star-crossed lovers belonging to clans that are at odds with each other, Twilight, is in talks to direct the potential Romeo & Juliet pilot in what would mark her TV directorial debut. Feature producers Todd Garner (Paul Blart: Mall Cop, the upcoming The Zookeeper) and Wyck Godfrey & Marty Bowen (the Twilight franchise, Dear John) are behind the series adaptation, which is being written by World Trade Center scribe Andrea Berloff. Romeo & Juliet, which is produced by ABC Studios, follows the famous love story while also pealing away the curtain on the impetuous, incestuous, bloody and violent relationships during the Renaissance in Verona. In addition to Garner, Godfrey and Bowen, Sean Robin will also executive produce the project.
While period dramas are in fashion with AMC's Mad Men, HBO's Boardwalk Empire; AMC's pilot Hell on Wheels, TNT's Hollywood & Vine as well as ABC's own 1960s Pan Am drama in development, costume dramas have been harder for the networks to pull off. Coincidentally, Showtime, which has been successful in the arena with The Tudors, is prepping The Borgias, a drama series which, like Romeo & Juliet, is set in Renaissance Italy. This is not the first Shakespeare work that Hardwicke would be tackling. The director, now in post-production on Red Riding Hood, has also been attached to direct Emile Hirsch in a possible feature adaptation of the Bard's play Hamlet. She has proven she understands teen angst with Twilight as well as her breakthrough directorial debut, Thirteen. Romeo & Juliet would reunite Hardwicke with Godfrey and Bowen who have produced two of her feature directorial efforts, Twilight and The Nativity Story.
