Nick Frost Circles Last Dwarf Role in 'Snow White and the Huntsman'
Paul actor/screenwriter Nick Frost is reportedly in negotiations for the seventh and final dwarf role in Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman. The English actor would join leads Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron — and fellow dwarf castees Toby Jones, Bob Hoskins, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Graham, Ray Winstone and Ian McShane. Eddie Izzard was in talks for a dwarf role as well, but it appears he may have fallen out in favor of Frost.

Dueling Snow Whites: Huntsman Set as Trilogy; Character Details for Stewart, Theron and Hemsworth
Who needs “happily ever after” when you can reinvent the fairy-tale rules? Source Via @twilightish.
Producer Joe Roth’s announcement that Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman is “meant to be the first in a series of films” delivers a body blow to Relativity’s already filming untitled Snow White, which is slated to come out first. “This story will end,” he says, “but there will be questions remaining for these three characters.”
As befits a would-be franchise, Universal will mount a presentation at Comic-Con this July before production on Huntsman even begins in August. Roth provides more details on the main characters, played by Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron below:
The Huntsman: “The Huntsman is a mercenary, in the sense that he’s a guy who is very able in the woods, more able than most anyone. His job is to capture runaway girls, who are all fleeing the kingdom because of the queen. He’s a nondescript bounty hunter, as we first meet him…He’s not a nice guy, but not only that, he’s someone who has lost hope and lost faith. He has lost his wife, given up on everything.”
Snow White: “She starts out not a damsel in distress, but innocent, and after 11 years of imprisonment by the Evil Queen, she escapes and learns the ways of a warrior in the woods,…[of Kristen Stewart] I hope this is a movie that will appeal to those who find Twilight appealing, but also [Stewart] is someone who has some piss and vinegar in her.”
Evil Queen: ”She’ll be larger than life. Evil without any burden of guilt.”
More details on the two Snow White projects here.

Trilogy planned for Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron's 'Snow White and the Huntsman'
Snow White and the Huntsman may have more to overcome than just one clash with the Evil Queen. Source Via @patstewbonect.
Producer Joe Roth tells EW that he plans on making the folktale action-adventure movie into a trilogy. “It’s meant to be the first in a series of films,” he said. “This story will end, but there will be questions remaining for these three characters.”
It’s an ambitious move by the Alice in Wonderland producer, who is in a neck-and-neck competition with a rival Snow White film starring Julia Roberts. Shooting is already underway on that movie, while Roth’s film — which stars Kristen Stewart and Thor‘s Chris Hemsworth as the title characters and Charlize Theron as her wicked royal highness — begins principal photography in August.
The two movies will open roughly two-and-a-half months apart next year. Roth’s movie debuts second, on June 1, but he’s hoping audience’s will be drawn in by a Lord of the Rings-style take on the centuries-old tale.

HollywoodReporter: Ian McShane Is First Dwarf Cast in Universal's "Snow White" (Exclusive)
MCSHANE WILL PLAY CAESAR, THE LEADER OF THE DWARFS, OPPOSITE KRISTEN STEWART, CHARLIZE THERON AND CHRIS HEMSWORTH. Source Via @gossip_dance.
The actor, currently seen on screen as Blackbeard in Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, has signed to play one of the dwarfs in Universal’s Snow White adventure movie.
Kristen Stewart in Negotiations to Play Snow White (Exclusive)
The project, being directed by Rupert Sanders, is a revisionist take on the fairy tale and features Snow White (Kristen Stewart) as a princess who escapes her evil stepmother (Charlize Theron) with the help of a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) who was to have killed her but now trains the princess to survive and fight back.
The movie is on track for an August production start. Universal will release the film in theaters June 1, 2012.
Relativity Moves Up Snow White Film to March to Beat Universal
McShane will play Caesar, the leader of the dwarfs. Universal is in the process of casting the rest of his crew. With Universal and Relativity Media racing separate Snow White projects into theaters next year (Relativity's untitled project also is ramping up production and is currently set to hit theaters in March), there could be serious competition to find strong character actors to fill the roles.
'Thor' Star Chris Hemsworth in Talks to Join Kristen Stewart in 'Snow White and the Huntsman'
McShane, repped by ICM, Gallant Management, and attorney Mark Wetzstein, is currently shooting Bryan Singer and New Line’s Jack the Giant Killer, in which he plays a benevolent king.
One of the things that sets Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman slightly apart from some of the other new takes on Snow White is the way it incorporates the dwarfs. In this version there are eight dwarfs, each of which is named after a Roman ruler.
Now the first of those characters has been cast: Caesar, the oldest of the eight, and an enemy to the Queen and old friend to Eric, the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth). We’ve known that actors would be made to look small via on-set tricks and post-production effects. The first guy you can start imagining reduced to a few feet tall is Ian McShane.
In the script, the dwarfs are:
Caesar: the eldest, with the longest beard.
Nero: the angry one.
Tiberius: the biggest and burliest.
Hadrian and Trajan: the twins.
Constantine: solemn and blind.
Claudius: the timid one.
Gus: young, unbearded, seemingly smitten with Snow White.
Rupert Sanders will direct Snow White and the Huntsman from a script by Evan Daugherty. Chris Hemsworth plays Eric, the Huntsman charged by the evil queen (Charlize Theron) with killing Snow White (Kristen Stewart) but who mentors her instead in the ways of survival and combat. Sam Claflin (Ian McShane’s co-star in the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film) will play the Prince.
We don’t know the other dwarf casting, but this is certainly a good start. But with seven big roles left to cast and quite a few competing films shooting this summer, Universal might have to get creative with choices. Shooting is set to start in August, and the film will be released on June 1, 2012.

A PG origin and re-imagining tale of "Snow White" from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Tonally in the vein of "Alice In Wonderland". Snow White
(Stewart), is an incredible beautiful young woman with raven hair, fair skin, and ruby red lips. Snow White's beauty is ultimately its own curse
because, when she becomes the fairest in the land, she becomes a threat to her step-mother Ravenna (Theron). Snow White loves Prince Charmant,
a boy of the same age who she was separated from as a teen. Snow White has been forced to live under the hard rules of Ravenna where her only friends were the animals that would come to see her. Snow White's life is turned upside down when Ravenna discovers that Snow White is about to become the fairest. She's driven from the castle and Eric is sent to kill her. Eric is a huntsman who is haunted by the death of his wife, Sara. He was deeply in love and cannot silence the pain caused by her loss. He drinks heavily and spends his days hunting for the White Wolf that killed Sara. He is purely mercenary, taking the money Ravenna offers to bring the most beautiful maidens in the land to the castle. However, when Eric discovers that the White Wolf works for Ravenna, he escapes with Snow White to the Dark Forest and begins preparing to get his revenge. (Offer out to Hugh Jackman for Eric, The Huntsman. / Release date December 21, 2012.)
