Chaske Spencer on CNN (Video)
Hey Everyone,
Here is the interview that Chaske gave to CNN ! Thanks to our Fan Svetlana Fadeeva for the Tip!
Via @SvetlanaFadeeva From @CNN
*Update*
Twilight Lexicon comments:
Chaske Spencer was on CNN’s Parker Spitzer, news commentary show featuring two anchors each with different political perspectives(the show has been taking a beating in the ratingsand via the critics). They have different people on each week to to talk about a variety of issues often from the common citizen’s point of view. Chaske was addressing the overall feeling corruption in politics that spans both major parties.
We normally don’t do political stuff around here except for encouraging people to vote no matter what their political leanings. Since Chaske was on the program, and he’s not speaking about a specific political party, we are covering it. For the personal sanity of our mods, can we request that the comments don’t turn into referendum on either party. When it comes to political corruption, there are more than enough morons in every party to go around.

CNN: Five Great Movie Locations to Visit

CNN has a list of five great movie locations to visit. Twilight is on the list and is especially prominent in their photo gallery. Minor point is that they feature Forks and La Push and don’t have a single photo up of any actual filming location in Portland, Vancouver, or Montepulciano. We suppose it’s the thought that counts.
“3. “Twilight” series, Washington state
The Forks, Washington, area has turned into “Twilight” heaven. Visitors can enjoy dinner at Bella Italia in Port Angeles, where Edward and Bella had their first date; stop by Forks Outfitters, where Bella worked; and travel to Forks High School, where the two first met (rumored to be the filming location for the school scenes.)
Additionally, the area boasts stand-in homes of the Swans and Cullens and motels such as the Dew Drop Inn, complete with “Bella’s suite” featuring black and red bedding.”

CNN: Chris Weitz Interview
Hey Everyone,
CNN took an interview from Chris Weitz!
See what he told them! Thanks to Twilight Lexicon for the Tip!
Via @TwilightLexicon From @CNN
Chris Weitz was determined to get the moon right. And when you have a movie about vampires and werewolves whose fans pay attention to every detail, it's important to get the moon right.
For the director of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," though, the impetus for showing the moon phase properly in the shot that opens the film was an astrophysicist, not a Twihard.
"I went to a lecture by Neil deGrasse Tyson where he's complaining that they'd gotten the stars in 'Titanic' wrong," Weitz said. "So his voice was in the back of my head, that we had to get the phase of the moon properly."
"New Moon," which comes out on DVD Saturday, did a lot of things properly, indicated by the fans' support. Though "Twilight," the first film in the series, received respectful reviews and good box office, "New Moon" -- which continues the story of lovestruck human Bella and vampire Edward -- was the bigger blockbuster, outgrossing the first film by more than $100 million domestically and earning more than $700 million worldwide.

CNN: Yes, Hollywood, Women Do Go To Movies
From TwilightLexicon, New Moon has been breaking box office records in record times rite and even CNN discussed about it. Check this out! -Liana- (via @TwilightLexicon)
CNN talks about how New Moon and films like The Blind Side surprise Hollywood executives with their success. It’s an interesting tale of history repeating itself on Valentine’s Day and then amnesia striking. The stats on the decline of women’s roles and directors is particularly telling.
“There’s an old Hollywood tale, and it goes like this: Open a female-led movie around Valentine’s Day. Watch women go in droves and drive up box office numbers.
Then let Hollywood executives call it a fluke, since everyone knows that women don’t go to movies.
Over the past few weeks, that tale has been told with a twist.
Two female-led movies have earned astronomically high box office numbers — like “third best opening weekend” high — on fall weekends typically dominated by blockbuster movies aimed at men. “New Moon,” the second film in the “Twilight” vampire series, has grossed more than $230 million since its opening, while “The Blind Side,” about a white family that takes in a homeless African-American boy, is already past the $100 million mark.
