Jackson Rathbone Distracts Staff at Cosmo

Jackson Rothbone stopped by the offices of Cosmopolitan Magazine, here is what he had to say
Thanks for our Elite Affiliate Twilight Lexicon for this tip!!
Jackson Rathbone stopped by Cosmopolitan magazine, and apparently the staff didn’t get any work done…fancy that
“Jackson Rathbone, the scruffy looker who plays Jasper in the Twilight series and , stopped by the Cosmo offices yesterday afternoon. In possibly related news, Cosmo staffers did not get a whole lotta work done yesterday afternoon.
We took him on a tour of the office—he commented on how nice it was to be around so many good-smelling women after being on a tour bus with a bunch of guys—then we sat him down to ask him questions you ladies came up with. (We asked our Twitter followers and Facebook fans to let us know what they were dying to ask Jackson. We chose a few of our favorites. So, if your Q is below you can pretty much tell people that you interviewed a Twilight star.)
Oh and by the way, when we told him that we were going to grill him, he was totally game, saying “I love a barbecue!”
You grew up with a sisters so you probably have a good idea about how women’s minds work. But what’s the one thing you’ll never understand about us?
Everything having to do with grooming! Their need to put on makeup and wear fancy clothing. I think a girl looks good when she wakes up with nothing on her face.
What’s the craziest way a fan has gotten your attention?
It’s really weird when people just start yelling and running at you. It makes me want to yell and run. The other way. It’s just sort of my natural human reaction. But I’ve been in a bar when someone comes up to me and just says, “I enjoy your work.” It’s really nice. And that doesn’t make me want to run the other way.”

Jackson Rathbone: I loved bringing out Jasper's dark side in 'Eclipse'

Greetings Twilight World!!
nypost.com has this interesting interview with Jackson!
Jackson is one of my fav :)
As someone who has been watching horror movies for the better part of his 28 years, I can't believe I'm about to write this sentence: I found the ending of "Dread" to be so unsettling, shocking and upsetting that I nearly vomited because of the film's last act.
Now, that will cause one of two reactions for you: either "Dread" will be bumped to the top of your NetFlix queue or removed completely. If it's the latter, I understand, but feel bad since you will miss one of the more intriguing movies that's ever been included in the AfterDark Horror Fest.
I recently caught up with "Dread" star Jackson Rathbone and found out that my visceral reaction is exactly why he signed up for the film in the first place. We also talked about more palatable subjects, like what "Twilight" fans can expect to see in this summer's hotly anticipated installment "Eclipse"!
PopWrap: I'm not going to lie, this film actually made me physically ill at the end.
Jackson Rathbone: Oh, excellent. That’s what I was hoping for!
PW: When did you know "Dread" had the ability to evoke this kind of response?
Jackson: I gave the script to a friend and he said that almost made him wretch, and that's when I knew I had to make this movie.
PW: The last 20 minutes are easily the hardest to watch, what was it like on set that day?
Jackson: Well, I like to be on set as much as possible, even if I’m not in that particular scene, I love watching. But I definitely wanted to be there that day. It was a gut-wrenching scene to watch and I thought Hanne Steen did a great job making that honest and real.
PW: What kind of affect on your performance does being on set that much have?
Jackson: I think when you enjoy the process of filmmaking, it makes the movie better because you love what you’re doing. There are a lot of dark scenes but we had such wonderful people around on set, that it created this amazing environment where we could just be honest.
PW: Any end of day rituals for releasing the tension?
Jackson: We’d always blare some crazy pop music in the makeup and hair trailers at the end of the day. Dancey, girly, Brit pop. We’d boogie down, and that would relieve some of the tension.
PW: Seems like music is a common theme on your sets -- the "Twilight" cast is all pretty musical as well, right?
Jackson: Oh yeah, we have a lot of musicians in the cast – it’s fun, we’d have Cullen Family Jam Band Sessions in the hotel. Sit around, play harmonica and work on some songs. We’d help Rob [Pattinson] out with songs he was working on, they’d help with songs I was working on, Nikki [Reed] and I would write song together and Kristen [Stewart] would play a bit too.
PW: You seem to jump around with your films and characters -- never sticking with one genre for too long. Is that kind of the plan?
Jackson: Absolutely. I want to spread my wings and play as many different characters as possible. Growing up, in the theater, I always played these out-there characters, I was never the leading man. Honestly, I find it a little more boring than playing the psycho or bad guy antagonist. It’s something I’ve always tried to go for. I try to change my look, my walk, my talk in every single person I play. It’s important to me as an actor not to get pigeonholed.
PW: So is it difficult then to play Jasper over the course of five films?
Jackson: The thing I like about Jasper’s arc is that it’s very developed -- you don’t know much about him in the first film. He's always in pain but don’t know why, until the second film, when you realize that he’s the newest to the family and he’s basically dying of hunger. It’s very difficult to live that vampryic lifestyle. So he’s having trouble adjusting. In the third film, we get to see Jasper’s backstory – see who he used to be and why he’s having such a hard time transitioning.
PW: So "Eclipse" will flashback to his time in The Civil War?
Jackson: Yeah. We do a little segue/backstory in "Eclipse",when he was turned during the Civil War. We get to see his more aggressive tendencies. When you’re first turned into a vampire, that’s when you’re at your most ravenous, most vicious – so you see Jasper go through that. It was a lot of fun to bring out the darker side of Jasper that he’s been holding back.
"Dread" is now available on DVD. "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" hits theaters on June 30

21 Photos: Dissecting The New "Eclipse" Stills + HQUN Download

I love to zoom in on stills in HQ and see things closer checking every inch for clues and insight. I
Hi Twilight Stars!!
twifans.com did an amzing job with the details in the Eclipse Stills...
Love them!
I love to zoom in on stills in HQ and see things closer checking every inch for clues and insight. I
decided to share and see if you see things that I don't. Some still show us nothing but fashion & bad wigs but it's fun anyways.
PS why are we being teased with just one still of Eddie & two of Jacob. Summit we would like you to be Switzerland and give us equal time!!! Let's start with Edward...cause it has always been him....Hair is divine in this photo. I like his hair the best in Twilight, bouffant. Notice the mole just outside the hair line. It looks like he doesn't have as much lipstick this go round...hallelujah (Madea talk). Click to enlarge all photos for more details!!!!
I was so excited when I saw this still. Finally someone is dressing them that actually read the books. The v-neck preppy sweater is soooooo Edward. This sweater makes my heart beat irregularly!
Edward's pants....THANK GOD THEY ARE NOT TWEED! Sorry I really did need to yell that one so Summit could hear that. He is a hot vampire not grandpa Eddie. These pants don't look like the black jeans we have seen in the past. Maybe micro fiber or dockers material? You thoughts?
Now onto our beloved Bella....Make up is flawless. So far the makeup in Eclipse gets a big thumbs up. Wigs? Not so much. Bella's wig looks fizzy and it mis-shapes her head. Color of the wig is good but other that that (in this photo) it gets a fail.
BELLA you are going to drive Eddie crazy in your bedroom with that babydoll tank!!! You go girl. Sweater is cute, I would buy it. No jewelry visual. I wonder after taking her jewelry off on the cliff in New Moon if Bella will be sporting new jewelry in Eclipse. Happy to see the same orange Jansport backpack!
OH Jacob...thank god you don't have to wear a wig. His hair looks great and I can see "Russet" colored spray tan so again makeup wise I am over the moon. Side note: I never noticed how long Taylor's eyebrows were before. Notice he also has stubble on the chin and stash area.
Hello Barbie people this is how the tattoo goes on the Jacob! A nice close up of the wolfpack tattoo.
Notice Jacob's shirt isn't really torn sleeves. They sewed the edges. Do you like the green? I do.
Who knew Taylor bit his nails? Maybe Edward really does make him nervous. LOL
This is during the legends campfire scene. Gil Birmingham tweeted about filming this scene. He says it's going to be very cool. Not much going on in this picture. The wig looks frizzy but Bella's head is the right shape. Makeup again flawless. Bella is really listening to the story.
Jacob has more stubble...I wonder if that is a reoccurring facial hair theme in Eclipse. Trying to show his age? Or making him appeal to the older ladies like Edward does? Sexy stare there Jacob Black.
Mama Cullen you look gorgeous! Hair is great. Makeup is good believable vampire makeup. Eyes very light but very pretty and soft.
Esme is wearing jeans! That seems so un-Esme-like but she is getting ready to throw down in a field so it is appropriate. I don't see a wedding ring or Cullen crest on Mama.
NO ONE PUTS JASPER IN THE CORNER (Dirty Dancing movie reference). Please someone explain to me why the fighter is in the back of the coven? Ahh hello Jasper is the most fierce. In a defensive stance against someone shouldn't Jasper be up front!?! Maybe they are meeting the wolves in this pic. If they are then Carlisle is supposed to be up front but check how intense everyone's eyes are. Does it look like they are looking at wolves to you? No crest visable & you can't really see Jasper's clothing cause it's blurry.
ROSE, ROSE, ROSE....vampires don't sweat!!!! What the H is going on here? Makeup girl cover that sweat up pronto. They are going to have to CGI that bleep. ON positive notes: hair color is better in this pic, her wig compared to the others looks freaking awesome. She looks the prettiest Rose has looked (IMO) compare to the first two movies.
Costume department this is my 2nd THUMBS UP! (first was Eddie's v-neck) This is how a young, hip, vampire with unlimited resources is supposed to dress to kick some bleep! A thousand dollar leather jacket that is totally HAWT. No Cullen crest on Rose either. WAIT WAIT WAIT where the hell is Emmett? We got no still of our Monkey Man! EPIC FAIL!!!!
These boots are killer but not exactly fight gear or training shoes. But Rose is smoking hot!
Again thank you costume people for reading the books!
Oh our best friend Alice. Girl is it the humidity? Your hair is not so pixie. I like the little flip. make up good and glad to see no sweat. Alice has her crest on....good girl!
What do we think of the pseudo modern members only jacket? Alice looks hip but read to move. What do you think?
Alice is sporting jeans and tennis shoes. What brand do we think her kicks are?
A Carlisle that is in deep concentration and concern.....love, love, love. But Daddy you are a little sweaty and you are supposed to lead by example! His makeup looks good. I have never thought Carlisle looked natural or great hair wise since Twilight. His hair was great in Twilight cause it was dyed and not a wig. I HATE THE WIGS!
Cargo pants and a wedding ring/Cullen crest ring! Nice combo. I could totally see Carlisle sporting cargo pants.

Jackson Rathbone on 'Love-Lust' in 'Twilight: Eclipse'

Hi Twilight Universe!!
fearnet.com has this interview with Jackson Rathbone..
Love Jasper!!
Forget Edward Cullen and Jacob Black -- for some Twilighters, it's all about Team Jasper. In this summer's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, fans will finally get to see where the 167-year-old recently vegetarian vampire came from… or rather, who he came from.
FEARnet caught up with Jackson Rathbone, currently on tour with his band 100 Monkeys, for more details on what to expect from Jasper's steamy Civil War-era flashbacks. He teased his scenes with Oscar-nominated actress Catalina Sandino Moreno, who plays the vampire Maria, and gave us a glimpse of what we'll see in Jasper's back story. (Hint: Fighting! Horses! Lust!)
In addition to his Civil War days, expect to see Jasper's training put to good use in Eclipse's present, as he trains his fellow Cullens for battle. But fun as those scenes were, Rathbone tells us he had a particularly strange time throwing punches at certain cast-mates...
(Fans following Rathbone's parallel music career: also see what he said about taking 100 Monkeys on the road after their current U.S. tour. And stay tuned for more from our chat with Rathbone on his horror flick Dread!)
FEARnet: In The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, you get to work with Catalina Sandino Moreno…
Ah man, Catalina. That was amazing, working with her. I was a huge fan of Maria, Full of Grace and she was lovely to work with.
We'll finally get to learn a little bit more about your character, Jasper Hale. What we can expect to see from Jasper's flashbacks and your scenes with Catalina?
Jasper's back story is that he was turned into a vampire during the Civil War era, so I got to don the Civil War regalia and ride a horse again -- I haven't been on a horse in like two years, so that was really fun. Basically, that's how I meet Maria, who's played by Catalina. Maria turns Jasper in order to make him the leader, or trainer, of the army that she needs in the South. Vampire armies are very prevalent in the South in those days. You'll get to see a lot of deadly training vampire scenes, and a little bit of the love-lust relationship between Jasper and Maria and how it doesn't really pan out.
Sounds like the type of turning scene your fans are going to love seeing. From the books and films, we know that vampires are turned with bites in various places; we've seen Carlisle, for example, bite Esme rather romantically on the neck to change her. So… can you tell us where exactly Maria bites Jasper?
Where does she bite him? Well, I don't want to give everything away. I've got to keep some little secrets. [Laughs] I think people are going to be pretty happy about it.
Fair enough!
Were there any particularly funny moments you had while filming Eclipse?
You know, whenever you get into these fight scenes it gets a little funny because you're going after each other, and we've all been such good friends for three years now, so throwing a punch at your friend is kind of weird. Jasper has to train the Cullen family, so it was weird… I didn't want to throw punches at Nikki Reed or Ashley [Greene]! It just didn't feel right to me to hit a girl. I was raised very Southern, and that's very wrong where I come from.
Switching gears to your musical interests, do you and 100 Monkeys have any plans to tour outside of the U.S.?
I think we are [but] I don’t know how soon. We have the rest of our dates that are posted on our website, but we're going to try and get out to the U.K., and we really want to get down to Australia and South America. It's just about finding the right time; hopefully we'll get down there as soon as possible.
Check back for FEARnet's continued chat with Jackson Rathbone about his horror flick, Dread, his challenging guest role on Criminal Minds, and his upcoming action film, M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender.

Jackson Rathbone Tells MTV That the Most Gratifying Part of ‘Eclipse’ Was Uncovering Jasper’s ‘Pain’

Hi Twilight Stars!!
eclipsemovie.org has this interview from MTV with Jackson Rathbone!!
Wanna see Jasper!!
In an awesome new interview with MTV, Eclipse Vampire Jackson Rathbone (aka Jasper Hale) spoke about his character, Jasper, in Eclipse. What his character is going through emotionally, and what we can expect action wise from Eclipse -
“There are some really cool action scenes,” Jackson told Hollywood Crush. “We worked with some amazing stunt men and women who were so incredible and just a lot of fun to work with and collaborate with. They taught me a lot. So I hope to see a lot more of the action [in the next 'Eclipse' trailer].”
Though we don’t learn much about Jackson’s Jasper Hale in “Twilight” and “New Moon,” his background is explored much more in “Eclipse.” “I’m excited for a step up with Jasper’s character,” Jackson said. “It’s been two, three years and now I get to kind of go outside and show a little bit more of what makes Jasper tick. We get to go into his back story — see where he came from, who he was before, what makes him who we see in the first film of ‘Twilight,’ what makes him seem like he’s always in pain, why he’s always in pain … because he is.”
So why, exactly, is he in so much agony? “He’s almost depressed,” Jackson said. “He wants to live a good life. He wants to be part of the Cullen family. He is the newest to this vegetarian vampire way of life, and he’s still trying to be part of that and address his inner demons and what he used to be. It was really fun to be able to express that.”
Jackson credits director David Slade, whom he called “amazing,” with helping to show how Jasper evolved into his present self. “I’ve always been a fan of his, especially his first film, ‘Hard Candy.’ I thought he did an incredible job with ‘30 Days of Night,’ so when I first got there, I talked his ear off about ‘30 Days of Night’ and how he got a couple of shots and all that.”
Some of Jackson’s favorite scenes to film were the ones that explore Jasper’s origins. “Whenever we got to go into Jasper’s back story,” he said, “I got to don the Civil War regalia and ride a horse. It had been years since I’d been on a horse, so it was fun. I used to ride when I was in Texas.”
According to some folks in the know (i.e. lucky people who have seen parts of the film), Jackson gives one of breakout performances in “Eclipse.” Jackson, however, brushed off the compliment, saying it was a little too soon to judge.
“I’d say wait for the film before you compliment me,” he chuckled.
