Here is an interview I found while over at Team-Twilight! Anna talks about her movie “Up In The Air” and her awards! I am so happy Anna is having such great success. She is really down-to-earth and seems like such a sweetheart! I heard an interview today on the radio here in Canada. If I can get the audio for it I will post it. It was really short, but she basically talked about her friendship with Adam Lambert.

Anna Kendrick Talks About Her And Jessica's Future After 'Eclipse'

(via @hollywoodcrush) It's no new news that Anna Kendrick had mostly slipped under the radar in Hollywood for nearly half her adult life. Before she stole all her scenes in both "Twilight" and "New Moon" and garnered an Oscar nomination for her role in "Up in the Air," Anna was the third youngest Tony nominee ever and made a name for her quirky humor in "Rocket Science."

But it's what's going on after her success that is what is interesting. Jason Reitman wrote the role of Natalie specifically for Anna in "Up in the Air" and, though she still auditioned for the role, it really was hers to start with. She admitted in a new interview with Reuters that she's been too caught up in "Up in the Air" and awards season to focus on work, but she is still deservedly receiving some A-list job opportunities.

Last summer, Anna was offered a role in an untitled Seth Rogen and James McAvoy comedy for Mandate Pictures, which starts shooting later this month. Mandate gave her the part without even an audition.

"I'm not a really good auditioner, so it took a lot of the load off me," she told Reuters.

“Jan Kendrick decided to go in late Tuesday to her job as an accountant at Unum.
She stayed at home, sat on her couch and watched TV.
Then she screamed – as she watched the announcement of her daughter, Anna Kendrick, being nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar.
Then she went to work.
“I walked into this meeting and someone said, ‘Jan, can you explain why you are so late?’” she said. “I told them, and everyone applauded.”
Anna Kendrick, 24, is a Portland native and a 2003 Deering High School graduate who has been acting on a national level since she was in middle school.
Still, her mother said it was somewhat stunning to hear that she had been nominated for an Academy Award, for her role opposite George Clooney in “Up In the Air.” The nominations were announced Tuesday on ABC.”

Yesterday, the BAFTA 2009 Nominations (that is, British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards) were announced, and Anna Kendrick was one of the nominees!

She was nominated in the category for "Supporting Actress" for her work in Up In The Air.

Her co-stars in the film, George Clooney and Vera Farmiga, were also nominated, and the film itself received nominations in the categories of "Editing," "Best Film," and "Adapted Screenplay." The full list of nominations is available here.

Kendrick's Twilight series co-star Kristen Stewart is also in the running for the "Rising Star" BAFTA Award.

Anna Kendrick’s Career Goes “Up in the Air”

Anna Kendrick provided some comic relief as Bella Swan’s ditzy BFF in the “Twilight” series. Then the 24-year-old actress outshone many of her tweentastic peers in a possibly career-making turn as smart, driven Natalie in “Up in the Air.” Her performance earned her Best Supporting Actress nominations at the Screen Actors Guild awards and Golden Globes. There’s a chance an Oscar nod could be in her future.

Kendrick began starring on Broadway when she was just 14 years old and became the second youngest person to be nominated for a Tony. She nabbed a Best Debut nomination at the Indie Spirit Awards for the movie “Camp” and another Best Supporting Actress nomination for “Rocket Science” when she was 22.

Speakeasy caught up with Kendrick after the Golden Globes to get a recap, hear about coming projects, and to talk about George (Clooney) and Robert (Pattinson). Although Mo’Nique walked off with the award, this girl’s got our vote for Best Chance at Winning More Awards in the Future.

The Wall Street Journal: Congratulations on all your accolades including your Golden Globe nomination. Was this your first time at the Globes?

Yes, it was my first time. It was a little scary, I was seated less than two feet away from Meryl Streep.

Did you talk to her?

No, actually. There are certain people that I don’t talk to, and she’s one of them. Jane Fonda, Paul McCartney, Meryl Streep are among the people I’ve been offered introductions, but I don’t want to meet them unless I get to work with them. I wouldn’t know what to say! Those are the type of people that stay your heroes. I haven’t met Julianne Moore [also a nominee for Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe] yet either, and I’m afraid of meeting her as well; I’ve idolized her for so long.

Any funny moments from the awards?

I ran into Lea Michele from “Glee” in the bathroom and she approached me, and I only realized then that we knew each other before. She was in “Ragtime” when I was in “High Society” on Broadway.

My, how little Anna Kendrick has grown!

The first time we spotted her was years ago, when she made a splash at Sundance with the indie film "Rocket Science." In the time since, we've enjoyed her as Bella Swan's fast-talking friend Jessica Stanley. And now, at still only 24 years old, Kendrick is an awards-season juggernaut with her new movie "Up in the Air," showing up on another red carpet at Friday's (January 15) Critics' Choice Movie Awards.

And, naturally, she had a lot to talk about. Like "Breaking Dawn," the final novel in the "Twilight" series. Depending on whom you speak with, Stephenie Meyer's last Bella and Edward book will either be split into two films or remain intact.

"If it is [split], great. If it's not, great," Kendrick insisted, saying it's not that she doesn't care, but that she has no control over the situation. "I understand why they would want to do that, but it's not my call.

"I find out when the fans find out. That's true," she laughed when asked when she expects to be briefed on how "Breaking Dawn" will be shot. "You will find out before I find out, actually. Text me."

Or how about the next movie in the franchise, which is due in theaters this summer? "I haven't seen any footage from 'Eclipse' yet," Kendrick said of the June 30 sequel, directed by David Slade. "I haven't done any [post-production audio] or anything for that yet."

One thing she can talk about, however, is the role that could take her career to the next level: playing opposite Seth Rogen and James McAvoy in "I'm With Cancer," a drama about a 25-year-old comedian diagnosed with the disease.

"Yeah, I'm really excited about that. I play James McAvoy's therapist," she said of her character, who helps McAvoy's funnyman — well, kinda. "I'm not very good at it, and I'm probably the most reluctant psychiatrist ever. But I'm really excited about working with that cast, and the script is really good."

Anna Kendrick, the rising star of Up in the Air, is an old hand at awards ceremonies. She was nominated for a Tony award at the age of 12 for her turn as Dinah in the Broadway musical High Society, the third-youngest nominee ever. Now, a dozen years later, she has been nominated for the Golden Globes supporting actress honour.

Having already won a slew of critics’ awards for playing a management consultant employed to tell George Clooney how to do his job more efficiently, she should not be surprised if her name is pulled out of the golden envelope. Working for an outfit that specialises in downsizing companies, her character, Natalie Keener, even gets to put down Clooney’s looks by telling a friend on the phone that the heartthrob is simply “too old”. Nice.

Natalie spends the entire film trying to prove her value. Despite all the awards and nominations she has collected, it is an emotional state that Kendrick, now aged 24, can relate to. Sitting in a London hotel she tells me: “I feel like I have something to prove every day. I think most people feel that way even if they’re successful.”

It’s hard to feel that you’re a success when every day your colleagues at work are Clooney, Vera Farmiga and the director Jason Reitman, she says. “I could relate to Natalie in that sense. She’s trying to prove herself and be very grown-up. I was trying to keep up with George, Jason and Vera and prove that I was professional enough to be part of the film.”

She says of her working relationship with Clooney: “It’s pretty nice. I think that the relationship we have in the film – life imitates art, or art imitates life – it felt like a parental relationship. It was a very sweet working environment and I always felt like he was looking out for me, but I never thought, ‘he’s so dreamy’.”

Kendrick is obviously a quick learner, because it is she who has been winning most of the plaudits. The Midas touch has been a prominent feature of her career, as her first big venture into big-budget Hollywood movies was to take on the part of the jealous, catty Jessica Stanley in the Twilight franchise.

Anna Kendrick and her Up In The Air co-stars (George Clooney and Vera Farmiga) made their way to New York yesterday for the National Board of Review of motion pictures awards gala, where Kendrick was presented her "Best Supporting Actress" award for Up In The Air. 


According to USA Today, Kendrick wore a Paule Ka dress and stated that she does take some issue with working alongside George Clooney. "I tell him how sick I am of talking about him. I give him a hard time," she said.
Kendrick was announced as the winner of NBR's prestigious award back in early December, 2009.


Up In The Air also won "Best Picture."
