Hi Twilighters, check out this PSA with Twilight inspired video as posted on Twilight Lexicon. Happy watching! (via @TwilightLexicon) This is a bit different, it’s not so much a spoof/parody as it is a public service message. However in fairness to Summit Entertainment, unless we missed something, there was no tobacco placement in any of the Twilight Saga films. source

'Twilight' stars light up IMDb's Top 100 of 2009 listing

Hello everyone! here is an article posted by our one of our Elite affiliates Twilight Examiner , check it out!
Arwad

It wasn't until late 2008 (November 21st to be exact) that Twilight released to theaters and its cast members became household names. In 2009, however, The Twilight Saga: New Moon  and its cast have been on the tips of tongues ranging everywhere from the mainstream media to the most ardent of critics.
All year long, the coveted top spot on IMDb's STARmeter has belonged to a Twilight star (with intermediate takeovers by temporary pop culture icons from time to time), and the "big three" (Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart , and Taylor Lautner ) have all taken turns at number one.

So, it should serve as no surprise, then, that when IMDb released its Top 100 of 2009 list , it was the cast of Twilight that held many of the highest places on the list.

For starters, Robert Pattinson was the number one on the STARmeter for 2009 with Kristen Stewart right behind him in second place.

Taylor Lautner took the number five spot, and Dakota Fanning  placed eighth on the list. Beyond the top ten list, too, there is a lot of Twilight andThe Twilight Saga: New Moon cast representation. Ashley Greene  is number eleven; Nikki Reed  holds down the fifteenth spot; Jackson Rathbone  came in at twenty-six; Peter Facinelli  is thirty-seventh; Kellan Lutz  came in at thirty-nine; Michael Sheen  is forty-fifth; and Cam Gigandet  is at number sixty.

USA Today Features Ashley Greene’s Skyrocketing Career

Hi Twilighters, USA Today talked abt Ashley's skyrocketing career thanks to Twilight as posted on Twilight Lexicon. Check it out! -Liana- (via @TwilightLexicon)

Ashley Greene’s career is really taking off. Add her to the pile of Twilight stars who will be at Sundance this year. According to USA Today, “As for adding non-vampire films to her résumé, Greene will be at Sundance in January for the premiere of Skateland. “The fact that we’re going to Sundance is a validity factor for an actor doing something you’re passionate about.”
In Skateland, Greene stars as Michelle Birkam, a girl-next-door type who befriends a cool kid with a job at the local skate rink. It’s set in the 1980s, so “I look just like my mother,” she says. “It’s crazy!”
Greene, who filmed Skateland in between Twilight and New Moon, also has wrapped Warrior, now in post-production, which stars Twilight buddy Kellan Lutz. “I got done with Twilight and went independent-crazy,” Greene says.

Hi Twilighters, from our Elite Affiliates (Bella'sDiary) revealing make up used while shooting New Moon.Check it out! -Liana- (via @bellasdiary)

I was just checking out the Sephora Beauty Blog and discovered this new article about exactly what products were used on our favorite New Moon characters for the flick:
“Here’s a sneak peek at some of the DuWop makeup, tips, and tricks that were used to achieve the (as quoted by Bella) “devastatingly, inhumanly beautiful” looks for some of the characters of New Moon, created by makeup artist Norma Hill-Patton. Are you as curious as I am?  Here are all the DuWop essentials Norma used on our favorite vampires”

The Cast:
Circle Block Concealer in Light & Medium
“This was used to great effect on members of the cast. It is incredibly creamy without being greasy, and it doesn’t crease. Also, the colors blend beautifully with the skin.”

Jane:
Grey Eyes Shadow Palette
“The beautifully matched tones helped me to create a smoky eye. The color stayed in place with minimal touch-ups throughout the day. A big plus for me!”

Hey Twilighters, New Moon becomes the no #1 advance ticket seller in fandango history!! Gosh this news is awesome... posted by @TwilightersHub (http://bit.ly/3i0RTZ) on Twitter via www.prnewswire.com

-Liana- (Via @TwilightersHub )

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- With five more days before its November 20 release date, New Moon has already leaped over previous record-holders to become the top-selling pre-release title in Fandango's ten-year history. The new record for Fandango's fastest-selling film was set on Saturday night, November 14, shortly after 8:00 p.m.
The Top 5 Advance Ticket-Sellers on Fandango (as of November 15, 2009) are now as follows:
  1. New Moon (2009)
  2. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
  3. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
  4. The Dark Knight (2008)
  5. Twilight (2008)
The latest chapter of The Twilight Saga is currently wolfing down 86% of weekly ticket sales on Fandango, the nation's leading movie ticketing destination.
Thousands of Thursday night midnight showtimes for New Moon are already sold out across the country, from Albany, Georgia to Yuba City, California. Yet New Moon tickets continue to be available. To meet the fan demand, the nation's top theater owners are regularly posting brand new showtimes on additional screens.
"For many fans, it's clearly the year's most anticipated film event," says Fandango Chief Operating Officer Rick Butler. "Ever since tickets went on sale on August 31, it's been among our top five weekly ticket-sellers, as New Moon has a strong pull on audiences. We're seeing a higher-than-usual number of tickets per transaction for this film, suggesting that moviegoers will show up en masse at theaters this weekend with their friends and family."
Here are some fun facts from a recent Fandango survey of more than 2,000 New Moon ticket-buyers:
  • 98% say the action in New Moon looks better than the action in Twilight.
  • 72% plan to see the movie with a group of three friends or more.
  • 52% of survey respondents say they dream about vampires.
  • 22% are mothers and daughters planning to see New Moon together.
  • 10% plan to show up at the theater in costume, dressed as characters from the saga.

New Moon fans camp-out in Westwood

Share Your Thoughts (0)

Tweet This | Share on FaceBook

Hello everyone!
Since some of our favorite bloggers are in a camp-out for the New Moon premiere, they have been tweeting non-stop and RT some of the news that have them covered. This article was written by Yvonne Villarreal from LAtimes.com (Via Twifans.com).
Gabs

Fans hoping to get a glimpse of the "New Moon" cast on premiere-night Monday were camping out on the sidewalks of Westwood today, some arriving two days ago to be a part of the latest installment in the "Twilight" vampire saga.

Alison Genet, 35, who drove from Gilbert, Ariz., was first in line, having arrived Thursday at about 8:30 a.m.
"I couldn't get here fast enough," said Genet, who runs the social networking site www.twifans.com. "I want to be front and center when Monday comes around."
She isn't the only one. Hundreds of fans were camped along Le Conte Avenue at Broxton. Take a right and they're down Westwood too. A left at Weyburn Avenue reveals even more "Twi-hards."
And they came prepared.
There are cots with blankets of Edward Cullen, the franchise's dreamboat vampire. Posters with heartfelt dedications like "Suck my blood, Edward" and "RPattz doesn't bowl strikes, he knocks 1 pin down & the other 9 faint." "Twilight" umbrellas provide shade. The latest issue of Vanity Fair, featuring cover boy Robert Pattinson, are in ample supply. And cardboard cut-outs of Edward and Jacob — for fans to take pictures with — stood at the front of the line.
The entire cast is expected to be on hand with star arrivals likely to start between 5 and 6:30 p.m. Monday. The "New Moon" premiere party is scheduled to take place at 9 p.m., at Lindbrook Drive and Glendon Avenue, also in Westwood Village.
And the tweets from far away Twi-hards are already buzzing with jealousy. "only_exception" writes: im so jealous i would totally camp out for 4 days if i didnt live all the way in chicago!...." "Sivanwe" tweeted "That's crazy-but I wish I was there." Summit Entertainment is hoping to continue to ride the teen vampire phenomenon and match the success of the first film, which grossed more than $385.5 million worldwide.

RPattz Hollyscoop Interview

Hi everyone!
Yes another interview to Rob Pattinson (are you going to complain? I know I'm not). This time we have the exclusive interview from Hollyscoop.com by Ani Esmailian(via @ Edward-Cullen.net)
Gabs!

Twilight heartthrob Rob Pattinson and his co-stars are busy doing the media rounds to promote their latest movie, but even without promotion, we have a feeling New Moon will debut at number one at the box office.

So what can we expect from the Vampire flick? Hollyscoop sat down for a one on one interview with Rob to talk about his passionate kisses with his rumored girlfriend Kristen Stewart, how fans will react to the Twilight sequel and his favorite scenes. Here are some highlights from the interview:
Hollyscoop: Edward is always looking out for Bella and her well being but you decide to leave Bella for a bit, why is that?
Rob Pattinson:” He’s just bored," he joked. "No, I think there is something about being deeply in love with someone that you start to doubt everything about yourself and see all your flaws and faults and I think it gets to such an extreme with Edward that he thinks he does not deserve to be with her anyway and thinks…and it gets even further than that he thinks that just by being with her he’s sowing her so and further than putting her out of the danger zone he decides he has to leave, he cant handle it."
HS: New Moon has a little bit of a darker side than Twilight, how do you feel fans will react to this?
RP: "You know a lot of people were saying that 12/13 year olds are the hardest audience & saying about it’s a Tween movie, Blah, Blah, Blah, I don’t think anyone involved with any of them has tried to make them directed towards them, I mean maybe people marketed towards them or whatever. I’ve never thought about that before so I think, I think trying to make it as intelligent complex film as you can because I think the material is there and the books to make it into a pretty deep, its quite interesting subjects. So I hope people will just think we are not being short changed."
HS: You play a vision for a majority of the film, was that difficult?
RP: “I guess to film it wasn’t that difficult, but it was quite difficult to know what I was actually doing. I wasn’t supposed to playing Edward as such, I was playing a figment of Bella's imagination so I kind of wanted Kristen to tell me how to do it but I was a little embarrassed. So I would say, Kristen how would you play me, what’s your impression of Edward? So it was kind of tough."
HS: You had a lot of passionate kissing scenes in the movie, is it difficult to get in the mode when you're surrounded by so many people during shooting?
RP: "Yeah... anything that has to do with pure, pure physical stuff is always quite difficult cause you…Always the kisses in Twilight or anything kind of intimate is such a massive part of the story, that its you have to tell a story within that and so even in the first one there was quite complicated scenes and they are always a really pivotal moment there is never…maybe there is one kiss in New Moon; right at the beginning where there is one kiss and there is nothing to it, its just that a normal kiss. But all the other times it’s always about either getting reunited with someone or leaving, I guess.”

-Liana-
'She really stands up for what she thinks is right and is generally on the same page with what I think is right,' RPattz says of his 'Twilight' leading lady.
By Larry Carroll

BEVERLY HILLS, California — Judging by the photos that leaked Tuesday night, a lot of people enjoy dreaming that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's onscreen romance also extends offscreen. But no matter what the truth is, this much is fact: Rob and Kristen are happy to have the other at their side as they ride the "Twilight Saga" wave.
"He's thoughtful," Stewart explained recently when we asked the actress to name the quality in RPattz that means the most to her. "I don't want to be specific. It's funny to talk about your friends in [these terms], because this is now going to be the one thing that's my favorite thing about Rob. It's going to be the thing."

Way back in March 2008, when MTV visited the "Twilight" set, two things were obvious: Kristen and Rob were going to set the big screen on fire, and the duo were growing close. Onscreen, Edward and Bella are romantic, honest and protective of one another; offscreen, Rob and Kristen have a funny, self-deprecating dynamic that has helped them grapple with all the insanity of the saga's explosion.

RobStenLovers: Oxford University Applicants As Likely To Be Asked About Twilight As Shakespeare

Sooo anyone wants to enter Oxford? Seems reading Twilight is 1 of the requirements... Njoy!!

-Liana-

Oxford University Applicants As Likely To Be Asked About Twilight As Shakespeare

The university, well-known for its rigorous application process, released a list of questions asked by its tutors in interviews.

Mike Nicholson, director of undergraduate admissions, said: ''Many myths persist about Oxford interviews, but these questions show there are no trick questions, no special knowledge is required, and there are no right or wrong answers.''

Lucinda Rumsey, of Mansfield College, said she asked English literature applicants about the Twilight books, a series on vampires written by Stephenie Meyer, because they are so popular.

She said: ''It's useful in an interview to find some texts the candidate has read recently and the Twilight books are easily accessible and popular.

''Also, candidates tend to concentrate on texts they have been taught in school or college and I want to get them to talk about whatever they have read independently, so I can see how they think rather than what they have been taught.

''A good English student engages in literary analysis of every book they read. The question has led to some interesting discussions about narrative voice, genre and audience in the past.''

Other questions include ''what is language?'', asked of a modern languages applicant.

Helen Swift, an interviewer at St Hilda's College, said: ''Although I would never launch this question at a candidate on its own, it might grow out of a discussion.

''Students sometimes say they like studying Spanish, for example, because they love the language. In order to get a student thinking critically and analytically, the question would get them to consider what constitutes the language they enjoy.''

The university stressed interviews were just one element of the selection process and that written work, predicted grades and references also played a part.

Mr Nicholson added: ''We are keen to show the reality of an admissions interview at Oxford.

''The interviews are all about assessing academic ability and potential. The aim is to get candidates to use their knowledge and apply their minds to new problems while allowing them to shine.''

The interview questions were released as it was announced that University College London has climbed above Oxford in this year's world university rankings.

Oxford has been knocked back into fifth place in the Times Higher Education-QS World University Rankings.

Examiner: Religion and philosophy in the 'Twilight' series tackled by professors in two new books

This is an interesting article... check this out.

Religion and philosophy in the 'Twilight' series tackled by professors in two new books
by Amanda Bell

Readers of the Twilight saga are well versed in the various conceptual underpinnings available in the books and characters - especially when it comes to the religious or philosophical concepts. Or are they?

Well, at least two professors have found the potential for furtherance of the issues worthy of publication.

Beth Felker Jones, author of Touched by a Vampire, is an Assistant Professor of Theology at Wheaton College in Illinois and the author of Mark of His Wounds: Gender Politics and Bodily Resurrection.

Her book Touched by a Vampire, promises to explore the Twilight series "through a biblical lens." According to the product description, "Some Christian readers have praised moral principles illustrated in the story, such as premarital sexual abstinence . . . But ultimately, Beth Felker Jones examines whether the story's redemptive qualities outshine its darkness." Its so-called darkness, it seems, is latent in its afilliation with its "teaching girls about love, sex, and purpose." Accordingly, the question is raised "Can vampires teach us about God's plan for love?"

The book will hit shelves on October 6th, and it is available for pre-order on Amazon.com.

Similarly, but worlds apart still, Rebecca Housel (a writing and literature professor at Rochester Institute of Technology) and J. Jeremy Wisnewski (an Assistant Professor of Philosophy who also wrote Family Guy and Philosophy: A Cure for the Petarded, The Office and Philosophy: Scenes from the Unexamined Life, X-Men and Philosophy: Astonishing Insight and Uncanny Argument in the Mutant X-Verse, and other academic books) have created Twilight and Philosophy: Vampires, Vegetarians, and the Pursuit of Immortality. Twilight and Philosophy has just been released in paperback on Amazon.com, and it promises to address questions such as "What can vampires tell us about the meaning of life?" and "Is Bella a feminist?"

While some of these types of questions have certainly been explored amongst the fandom (and even, at times, within this column), there are likely a range of questions that linger still. That said, would you be interested in reading works like these? Why or why not? Comment below and let us know!
