Anyone who's a fan of Bella Swan's relationship with the Cullen family is in for a twist when "Breaking Dawn" hits theaters next year. Nikki Reed is going to have a lot of room to expand her character Rosalie this time around, as Rosalie and Bella become closer than even Bella and Jacob during "Part 1" of the two films.

Their bonding started in "Eclipse," but in "Breaking Dawn" it takes on a whole new dimension as Rosalie completely defends Bella's decision to have her half-human, half-vampire baby. When MTV caught up with Nikki while she was promoting her upcoming indie, "Last Day of Summer," she explained the new dynamic to their relationship.


"What is that saying: Nothing makes two people bond more than the hate of another?" she said. "I kind of feel like that [describes Bella and Rosalie's relationship], but in relation to love in 'Breaking Dawn,' because they both love this child so much."

We already know Nikki's take on Rosalie's pro-life stance, but her perspective on Bella and Rosalie's new-found sisterhood is a bit more interesting, in our opinion.

"I think it's finally the one thing that's strong enough to bring them together — their love for this [child]. It's bizarre," Nikki said, referencing Bella and Rosalie's not-too-friendly relationship in the first three "Twilight Saga" books. "It's like they learn to co-exist for the sake of the kid, almost like they're a divorced couple."

One of the high points for us at Hollywood Crush during our viewings of "Eclipse" was a chance to see the backstories of Rosalie and Jasper realized on the big screen. We have heard Jackson Rathbone talk about how excited he was to play Civil War soldier for his flashback sequence, but were a little surprised to find out Nikki Reed was nervous to do Rosalie's flashbacks.

"I was torn because I was definitely looking forward to it. I mean, I read the first three books before we began filming 'Twilight,' so I knew what I had in store if we made all three movies," she told MTV News about going back in time. "But I was obviously very intimidated, and I felt a little insecure, and I was nervous, and — maybe I should not be saying all these things — but I was."


She added, "It's scary. I never really felt the pressure up until 'Eclipse' because, we're all definitely a part of this thing, but it was really Rob and Kristen and Taylor that we were sort of following behind them in the shadow, going 'Oh hey!' when necessary."

Peter Facinelli and Elizabeth Reaser both supported Nikki's portrayal and the Rosalie backstory in general, saying they were happy that Rosalie gets to be more than a vampire who is mean to Bella and ends up closer to the story's voice of reason.

It turns out that there was actually more to Rosalie's wedding dress revenge that we saw in the film, and we hope it will end up as a DVD extra.

"There was this scene that I shot where I was strapped to this weird machine that was making me fly up and down this hallway with this wedding dress and David Slade was giving me this really intense direction but it was just kind of outrageous what I was doing," Nikki said, describing a scene that didn't quite make it into the final cut of "Eclipse."

"You step beyond your comfort zone to play a character that literally feeds on blood and like all these weird instinctual things come out," she said.

decided to share and see if you see things that I don't. Some still show us nothing but fashion & bad wigs but it's fun anyways.

PS why are we being teased with just one still of Eddie & two of Jacob. Summit we would like you to be Switzerland and give us equal time!!! Let's start with Edward...cause it has always been him....Hair is divine in this photo. I like his hair the best in Twilight, bouffant. Notice the mole just outside the hair line. It looks like he doesn't have as much lipstick this go round...hallelujah (Madea talk). Click to enlarge all photos for more details!!!!

I was so excited when I saw this still. Finally someone is dressing them that actually read the books. The v-neck preppy sweater is soooooo Edward. This sweater makes my heart beat irregularly!

Edward's pants....THANK GOD THEY ARE NOT TWEED! Sorry I really did need to yell that one so Summit could hear that. He is a hot vampire not grandpa Eddie. These pants don't look like the black jeans we have seen in the past. Maybe micro fiber or dockers material? You thoughts?

Now onto our beloved Bella....Make up is flawless. So far the makeup in Eclipse gets a big thumbs up. Wigs? Not so much. Bella's wig looks fizzy and it mis-shapes her head. Color of the wig is good but other that that (in this photo) it gets a fail.

BELLA you are going to drive Eddie crazy in your bedroom with that babydoll tank!!! You go girl. Sweater is cute, I would buy it. No jewelry visual. I wonder after taking her jewelry off on the cliff in New Moon if Bella will be sporting new jewelry in Eclipse. Happy to see the same orange Jansport backpack!

OH Jacob...thank god you don't have to wear a wig. His hair looks great and I can see "Russet" colored spray tan so again makeup wise I am over the moon. Side note: I never noticed how long Taylor's eyebrows were before. Notice he also has stubble on the chin and stash area.

Hello Barbie people this is how the tattoo goes on the Jacob! A nice close up of the wolfpack tattoo.

Notice Jacob's shirt isn't really torn sleeves. They sewed the edges. Do you like the green? I do.

Who knew Taylor bit his nails? Maybe Edward really does make him nervous. LOL

This is during the legends campfire scene. Gil Birmingham tweeted about filming this scene. He says it's going to be very cool. Not much going on in this picture. The wig looks frizzy but Bella's head is the right shape. Makeup again flawless. Bella is really listening to the story.

Jacob has more stubble...I wonder if that is a reoccurring facial hair theme in Eclipse. Trying to show his age? Or making him appeal to the older ladies like Edward does? Sexy stare there Jacob Black.

Mama Cullen you look gorgeous! Hair is great. Makeup is good believable vampire makeup. Eyes very light but very pretty and soft.

Esme is wearing jeans! That seems so un-Esme-like but she is getting ready to throw down in a field so it is appropriate. I don't see a wedding ring or Cullen crest on Mama.

NO ONE PUTS JASPER IN THE CORNER (Dirty Dancing movie reference). Please someone explain to me why the fighter is in the back of the coven? Ahh hello Jasper is the most fierce. In a defensive stance against someone shouldn't Jasper be up front!?! Maybe they are meeting the wolves in this pic. If they are then Carlisle is supposed to be up front but check how intense everyone's eyes are. Does it look like they are looking at wolves to you? No crest visable & you can't really see Jasper's clothing cause it's blurry.

ROSE, ROSE, ROSE....vampires don't sweat!!!! What the H is going on here? Makeup girl cover that sweat up pronto. They are going to have to CGI that bleep. ON positive notes: hair color is better in this pic, her wig compared to the others looks freaking awesome. She looks the prettiest Rose has looked (IMO) compare to the first two movies.

Costume department this is my 2nd THUMBS UP! (first was Eddie's v-neck) This is how a young, hip, vampire with unlimited resources is supposed to dress to kick some bleep! A thousand dollar leather jacket that is totally HAWT. No Cullen crest on Rose either. WAIT WAIT WAIT where the hell is Emmett? We got no still of our Monkey Man! EPIC FAIL!!!!

These boots are killer but not exactly fight gear or training shoes. But Rose is smoking hot!

Again thank you costume people for reading the books!

Oh our best friend Alice. Girl is it the humidity? Your hair is not so pixie. I like the little flip. make up good and glad to see no sweat. Alice has her crest on....good girl!

A Carlisle that is in deep concentration and concern.....love, love,love. But Daddy you are a little sweaty and you are supposed to lead by example! His makeup looks good. I have never thought Carlisle looked natural or great hair wise since Twilight. His hair was great in Twilight cause it was dyed and not a wig. I HATE THE WIGS!

Cargo pants and a wedding ring/Cullen crest ring! Nice combo. I could totally see Carlisle sporting cargo pants.

These two offerings are not outtakes; they were never part of the manuscript. Rather, these are short (well, reasonably short) pieces I wrote after New Moon was all finished, both inspired by questions and comments on the Twilight Lexicon.

So many people were curious about what exactly Rosalie said to Edward during that fateful phone call. Here is that short section of New Moon from Edward's perspective:

I noticed a disturbing trend various places on-line—people are ascribing the most nefarious motives to Jacob Black, insisting he has some kind of dark agenda. Some of this is due, in my opinion, to a heavy general bias in favor of vampires over werewolves. But some of it must be my fault. Apparently Jacob's intentions are not as clear to the reader as they are to me. Now, I'm not up for writing all of New Moon from Jacob's perspective (I'm dizzy at the thought), but I did want to let people look through his eyes for a bit, were they so inclined. (It was supposed to be much shorter than this but you know me.) So, if you want to know the other other side of the story, here's your chance to walk a mile in Jacob Black's shoes:

Name a song that you’ve listened to in the past 24 hours.
“She’s Only Happy in the Sun.” It’s nonstop Ben Harper in my apartment. My first boyfriend played me this song when I was 14 because my life back then was all about going to Venice Beach. Luckily, we didn’t have a bad breakup, so I don’t have any painful memories attached to the music.

On that note, what song do you associate with your first kiss?
D’Angelo’s “How Does It Feel” was playing at the time — in my head. Honestly, the most memorable make-out sessions I ever had were in [the 2003 movie] Thirteen. Those were hardcore.

Who would you like to portray in a rock biopic?
Rickie Lee Jones. Last year I went to see her at the Largo [in L.A.] on Valentine’s Day by myself. She seems eccentric. She started telling stories about her childhood, and I was thinking, “Oh, maybe this is the night when she wants to make this a personal experience.” But it turns out she does that all the time.

What’s the first album you bought with your own money?
The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. I liked her in Sister Act 2. Also, I grew up in an area where I was a minority, so it was culturally diverse.

Do you have a go-to karaoke song?
I don’t drink, and karaoke is something you should only do drunk. But I’m obsessed with Adele. I put on “Chasing Pavements” and sing it in my apartment. The great thing about Adele is if you put her on top volume, you actually sound like her while you’re singing. I’ve gotten a few complaints from the neighbors.

What’s the most prized T-shirt in your collection?
[Friend and New Moon star] Kristen [Stewart] and I share a lot of clothes, so I wear a lot of Joan Jett shirts.

Kristen is playing her in a movie.
Yeah, Joan made replicas of the ones she used to wear in the ’80s and gave them to us.

How did filming New Moon differ from Twilight?
We were all friends when we headed up to Vancouver to shoot New Moon. There was an obvious closeness that became apparent towards the end of Twilight.
Did anything change in the way that you interact as a cast from one film to the other?
Yeah, we used to have a lot of group dinners.
Do you or the Cullen actors have a ritual or anything you do to prepare or rev you up before shooting a scene?
We don’t really have a “getting into character ritual,” unless you count constant joking around and chaos.
Rosalie’s part continues to grow with each film. What scenes—out of the three films thus far—have been your favorites to shoot and why?
I just wrapped Eclipse yesterday and the last scene we shot is probably my favorite thus far. I finally got to tell my story, in a very gentle yet elaborate way.
